Reduced production time from 23 days to 7 days- without adding to payroll. Inaugurated new production planning and control system. Coupled J.I.T. deliveries with shortened production cycle time to increase seasonal shipments by 50%. Totally accomplished this in 13 weeks.

MONTGOMERY WARD & CO., New York, NY - Merchandiser (Central Merchandising Unit)

Responsible for distribution of merchandise to over 75 stores; improved inventory turns through better control of orders. Re-organized work-flow system, which allowed the work of 7 people to be completed by 6 staff members.

Management Applied to the Military
U.S. ARMY: 1952-1954

Conducted series of two staff studies at operational level, ultimately approved by the Pentagon. Increased efficiency and effectiveness of combat training, resulting in trainees' receiving 20%-to-25% more training per day. Also, effected the transfer of 27 combat-ready non-commissioned officers from a 59-man unit to a badly understaffed combat-ready unit. Reorganized accounting office. Commenced with 9 persons performing work that was 6 weeks in arrears. Improved office productivity so that 6 months later, only 5 persons were needed and all work was totally current.
